The following are courses taught in accordance with the standards and guidelines of the American Heart Association (AHA). Fontaine Fire Inc., is a Community Training Center recognized by the AHA. All students completing the course are issued an AHA card valid for two years
CPR for the Lay Rescuer (Heartsaver)
A comprehensive CPR course for the non health care professional. This course is perfect for coaches, teachers, fitness professionals and day care providers. You will learn how to help the adult and/or pediatric victim who is choking, stopped breathing or who needs CPR. Students will learn to recognize the symptoms of heart attack, cardiac arrest and stroke. We can “add on” additional skills such as 2 person rescue or mouth to mask breathing. This course requires a skills evaluation before a card can be issued. Course time is 1 to 3 hours.
CPR/AED (Heartsaver with AED)
A course for lay responders whose occupations requires them to respond to an emergency and who have access to an automatic external defibrillator (AED). This course is tailored to a corporate or industry work place and is especially appropriate for responders to citizens at high risk. Course time 4 hours
Non Certification CPR Training (Family and Friends)
This is an excellent program for lay responders who do not require certification or course completion card but want to learn the basic skills of CPR. The course includes CPR and choke saving rescue for the infant, child and adult victims. Students will learn to recognize the signs and signals of heart attack and stroke and practice their rescue techniques on adult and pediatric manikins. No written exam required! We are happy designed a program for your church, neighborhood or family. We can provide training in adult CPR, infant CPR, child CPR or any combination of these three populations! Let us teach you what you need to know to respond in an emergency! Course time 1 to 2 hours.
Heartsaver First Aid (Heartsaver F/A)
This basic first aid course teaches the fundamentals of rescue and bystander assistance. We cover treatment for bleeding emergencies, burn care, shock and much more. Ask about the add on option of CPR, AED and/or Environmental emergencies. Course time is 3 to 5 hours depending on choice of skills.
Teen Babysitting (Teen Sitter)
A course designed for teenagers age 11 to 18 that teaches the fundamentals of safe child care. We tailor a class for your size and age group! What to charge? How to get and keep customers? How to recognize a minor from a major injury and when to call for help are just a few of the topics we cover in this fast paced 4 hour course.
CPR for the Health Care Professional (AHA BLS HCP)
Are you renewing your AHA? If so consider taking the online course at heart.org. Its fast, easy, and inexpensive. Once you have completed the written test online contact us by phone or email and schedule a skills check at YOUR convenience. The skills check takes approximately 30 minutes and is a very affordable $50. Your time is valuable so why sit through a renewal class! Contact us with questions or concerns. Prefer to learn the skills with other students? Look at the course dates/times on our calendar. Cost for the group class is $65 and includes your AHA text, card and disposable mouthpiece for practicing mouth to mask breathing.
This comprehensive Basic Life Support Course is designed for the professional rescuer who requires certification as a condition of employment or licensure. In addition to infant, child and adult CPR, students are required to demonstrate two person rescue, mouth to mask, mask to bag ventilation and includes AED demonstration. The fundamentals of BLS course is designed for the students with a less advanced medical background. Course time 4 to 6 hours.

Pet First Aid (Pet f/a)
What are the first steps in helping your pet before you can get them to the vet?
Would you know what to do if your cat or dog stopped breathing or started choking?
Come learn the steps of pet rescue in a relaxed setting with other animal lovers!
You will learn the steps of animal cpr and first aid and receive a text book. Learn from instructors that include a licensed chiropractor and health educator.
Lunchtime CPR (Lunchtime CPR)
AHA CPR for family and friends will teach you CPR rescue skills for the adult/child victim in about an hour.
In this fast paced, non stressful learning environment you will learn how to help the victim of heart attack, cardiac arrest or choking. The course is non certified and every participant will take home an AHA booklet.
Grandparents 101 (grandparents)
Becoming a Granparent is exciting. It's probably been a while since you were around young children.
Learn infant/child CPR and hear about the latest prevention techniques including car seat do's and don'ts.
Wondering what items are the best to protect young children? Prevention tips included!
This is a non certification class and a stress free learning environment! You will walk away with an American Heart Association booklet and other hand outs. $40 person or $75 for 2.
Pediatric First Aid (grandparents)
This AHA First Aid program is designed for child care providers and parents who require certification in pediatric first aid. The course covers emergencies and provides instruction on how to help the infant or child victim until advanced rescue arrives and takes over. It includes CPR for the infant, child and adult. Optional topics include mandatory asthma training for licensed day care providers and suspected child abuse. Course time is from 4 to 8 hours depending on group size and training modules selected.
